The Purse of Spiritual Gifts


This mixed media piece, a detail of which is shown here, was exhibited at the Rugby Open in 2003.  It was made in response to a personal experience of Christ at a time of physical suffering.

Inspirational for the work were the words from the Book of Isaiah, "I will create pathways in the wilderness . . . and rivers in the desert."

Aspects of the life of Christ then linked together the Old and New Testaments , the panel also having the theme of how gifts of grace come to us through suffering, which suffering is mediated through the Cross of Christ.
