The Cloths of Joy





This mixed media piece, of which a detail is shown here, was produced in response to Psalm 30 where the Lord turns mourning into dancing and gives instead clothes of joy.

The dancer leaps above a tangle of barbed wire towards the redemptive cross, stitched in metal, beneath which is a voided cross; also stitched by hand are words from the psalm and other related words and phrases.
