"Summer Hedgerow, Tanat Valley", was the first embroidery I made in this format. Inspired by the delicate colours of a
flowered bank in summer, it was exhibited
at the "Pathways" Exhibition of the Opus School of Textile Arts, Museum of London and sold in the course of the exhibition.
"Breton
Summer 1, Iles de Glénan" and "Breton Summer 2, Carnac Plage" express
the
delight I felt at experiencing this lively beach, bathed in bright
light and the colourful nautical festival which took place on these
small islands off
the coast by Concarneau.
The
piece "Winter Tide" describes the colours of the sea in winter as it
lapped against the promenade and shores of the home-town in County Down
where I spent my childhood and growing up years.
